Reformed Sermon Collections

I suspect that our sermons could be greatly improved if we read more of the best preachers of the past and took notes on how they handled the word. To that end, as well as edification, I have put together this list of preachers and sermons. The vast majority are Reformed, but some Church Fathers and Calvinistic Baptists are included. Most are commended by Princeton Professor J. W. Alexander (1804-1859) in his Thoughts on Preaching, while a few others were pointed out to me by Zach Dotson.

Archibald, Alexander. Practical Sermons.

Augustine, Aurelius. Sermons. [It is the general consensus of Protestants that as a preacher Augustine indulges in excessive allegory, and that his understanding of justification is poor. Nevertheless, his sermons contain many pious meditations and they are worth reading as some of the best of the Patristic era. His sermons in English are generally more recent translations and must be purchased. The Latin originals are transcribed here.].
